This is what classic is... mana is crucial. It's not a near-infinite DPS bar like retail. This is the kind of thing that traditional players prefer. And for the most part it is the expectation of each mob in a way to be similar to the player's level of WOW TBC Gold power at least 70 percent. In reality, (played through all the classic) TBC seems WAY easier and less harsh with mob damage and mana regen. It's even easier to level me.

It's a dumb question, but, have you received an animal hunter trainer quest? Hunter is the most simple class to reach. It's also the easiest if you are just starting out in the game.
